Biochemistry doctoral student wins Midwest teaching award

The Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) awarded Brandon Sullivan, Presidential fellow and doctoral candidate in the Ohio State Biochemistry Program (OSBP), its inaugural Excellence in Teaching Award in the doctoral student category

The Graduate School nominated Brandon for the MAGS teaching award. Brandon was awarded a Graduate Associate Teaching Award (GATA) in 2010.

In its February 18 award letter, the awards committee noted that Brandon's submission materials demonstrate that he is an "exemplary teacher."

"The committee was particularly impressed with your assessment procedures and your enthusiasm and creativity in teaching Chemistry to all levels of students."

Brandon receives a $750 honorarium and has been invited to speak about his teaching during the MAGS award luncheon at its annual meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Thursday, March 31.
