Career Ready and Employability Graduate Faculty Advisory Board
The Career Ready and Employability Graduate Faculty (CRE-GF) Advisory Board was established in 2023 to facilitate active engagement between graduate faculty/program level and the Graduate School/Development and Engagement area. The board represents a useful source of information about the latest ideas, developments in and requirements of the profession in the field.
The board is comprised of graduate faculty from various colleges and departments across the university, who are recognized for their commitment and dedication to mentoring graduate and professional students. They are making a one-year commitment and board meetings are scheduled in the fall and spring terms. The goal is to integrate the CRE-GF feedback to best serve Ohio State’s master’s and doctoral students around career development through accessible and flexible programming and services.
The CRE-GF provides strategic advice and feedback on how to support master’s and doctoral students around career development and employability. They provide advice about existing offerings, along with presenting prospective opportunities for new programming, and provide information about departmental program initiatives. They provide a comprehensive set of feedback, to support graduate and professional students’ career aspirations.

Career Ready and Employability Industry Partners Advisory Board
The Career Ready and Employability Industry (CRE-I) Advisory Board was established in 2023 to facilitate active engagement between external/industry partners and the Graduate School/Development and Engagement area. The role of the CRE-I is the continuous program improvement process, to ensure that industry programs are up to date with the latest industry trends and new ideas to keep program offerings relevant. The CRE-I also serves to bring industry professionals and students together.
Board members were chosen from various industry partners, based on the philosophy that a diverse industry board provides a broad employment opportunity for master’s and doctoral students. In addition, a diverse board creates an opportunity to develop and offer innovative and relevant programming. Board meetings are scheduled in the fall and spring term. The goal is to integrate the CRE-I feedback to best serve Ohio State University master’s and doctoral students around career development in industry through accessible and flexible programming and services.
One way the Board is engaging with students is by offering workshops and programming. The goal is to prepare master’s and doctoral students for entry level industry jobs. Today, the nature of industry occupations changes quickly, and require an understanding of what knowledge and skills are needed to make program revisions, but also by keeping programs and faculty informed. This is accomplished by having periodically joint meetings of the CRE-I and the Career Ready and Employability Graduate Faculty (CRE-GF) Advisory Board,
