We Appreciate You!

As we approach National Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week, I am delighted to extend my heartfelt gratitude and admiration to all our graduate and professional students at The Ohio State University. From April 7 - 11, we celebrate your dedication, hard work and invaluable contributions to our academic community.
The flagship event, Donuts with the Deans, will kick off the week on Monday, April 7, from 9-11 a.m. in the University Hall Reception Area. This event brought to you by the Council of Graduate Students in partnership with the Graduate School, offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with university leadership, gain insights into their roles, and receive appreciation for the vital work you do in research, teaching and university operations.
Throughout the week, the Council of Graduate Students will host daily giveaways from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Graduate School Lobby. These tokens of appreciation are a small gesture to acknowledge your dedicated efforts and achievements.
On Wednesday, April 9, join the Council of Graduate Students for a fun-filled Game Night at the Ohio Union KBK Suite from 6-9 p.m. This event promises an evening of camaraderie and relaxation, a perfect break from your rigorous academic schedules.
Thursday, April 10, brings the Appreciation Week Pizza Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Hall Reception Area. Enjoy a variety of pizzas, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, while connecting with fellow students and completing the Graduate Student Experience Survey.
Additionally, the Graduate School is offering professional portrait sessions on multiple dates throughout April. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity to enhance your professional profiles with high-quality portraits.
Cap off the week with a culinary adventure sponsored by the Council of Graduate Students at the Instructional Kitchen on Friday, April 11, from 5-7:30 p.m. Join Chef Flores for a hands-on cooking class and enjoy a delicious meal with your peers.
Finally, appreciation of graduate and professional students does not end on April 11. See the many events that continue through April and into May specifically desired to support you. Without students excelling throughout their career, this university would not be able to provide the invaluable teaching, research, and creative exploration that makes it great.
Sincerely,
Mary Stromberger, PhD
Dean of the Graduate School
