Tracy Roach
Tracy Roach earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Biology from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN in May 2015. She later earned a PhD in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University in May 2020 after studying RNA modifying enzymes in Dr. Jane Jackman’s lab. In August 2020, Tracy joined BASF as a PhD LDP. She’s gained experience in the following roles: polyurethane R and D Research Scientist, Customer Experience Project Manager working directly with a Supply Chain team, and Commercialization Manager in the field of additive manufacturing. In her free time, Tracy enjoys gardening, cooking with her husband, and going on long walks with their high-energy mixed breed dog.

Oluwapelumi (Pelumi) Kareem
Kareem is part of BASF’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) where he is part of the global technical marketing team for BASF Pharma Solutions. Pelumi has a PhD in Chemistry from Tulane University, where his project focused on the synthesis and characterization of polymers and dendrimers for drug delivery applications. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University of Louisiana, where his research focused on synthesizing novel organic compounds against triple negative breast cancer. Prior to joining the PhD LDP program, Pelumi was a LDP intern supporting the elemental analysis team within BASF’s central analytics group in Wyandotte, MI. Pelumi’s first position focused on industrial hygiene in Wyandotte, MI where he established and expanded emission testing capabilities using thermal desorption gas chromatography mass spectrometry. Pelumi is now based out of Tarrytown, NY and his work includes supporting technical campaigns on amorphous solid dispersions and soft gels.
