The Engaged Scholars Graduate Student Community of Practice will hold its first meeting of the academic year on Sept. 4 from 4-6:30 at the Faculty Club. This group is tailored exclusively for graduate and professional students interested in community engaged scholarship.

While driven by the specific needs of the group members, this Community of Practice aims to:

  • Forge Connection and Thinking Together: Developing a space for individual scholars to learn and co-create together on common interests, problems, or ideas related to engaged scholarship.
  • Interdisciplinary Exchange: Facilitate cross-disciplinary dialogue, drawing on a diverse array of perspectives and methodologies.
  • Ethical Considerations: Foster discussions around the ethical dimensions of engaged scholarship.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Establish or identify platforms for members to share their engaged scholarship projects, findings, and best practices.
  • Peer Mentorship: Cultivate a supportive environment where experienced engaged scholars guide newer members in navigating the unique challenges and opportunities of this form of scholarship.
