BIG10 PhD & Postdocs who want to participate in this career fair:
Please check with your career services office, Graduate School, and/or Office of Postdoctoral Affairs to determine if and how you can participate in The BIG10 Academia Career Fair virtually on Handshake or via the Qualtrics survey to submit your C.V.
For Purdue & Penn State, we have attached specific instructions from Handshake to the career fair for you to utilize a "workaround" since your universities are not on Handshake at all. This work around DOES NOT work for other BIG10 institutions who do not support Handshake accounts for postdocs and/or graduate students. Sorry. If you don't have a Handshake account, then you can still participate by submitting your C.V. via a Qualtrics survey. You should receive a link in email promotions. If not, then email Jeremy Hale using your university email to prove you are a BIG10 student, trainee, or alumni.
If you know you want a postdoctoral position (or 2nd position), then we highly recommend you submit a C.V. no matter where you are in your current program, as some organizations will track your progress over the next several years. You can submit your C.V. by utilizing the link provided in the "You are registered" email that Handshake sends once you are registered for this career fair or via promotional emails from your home institution. Submission of a C.V. is not required to participate in this career fair, but is highly encouraged. If you are currently at a BIG10 institution and are not able to register for the career fair, but would like to submit your C.V., then please email Jeremy Hale for the Qualtrics survey link.
DEADLINE for C.V. submissions is Monday, September 29th at noon Eastern Time. This is a HARD deadline to provide our recruiters with 3 weeks to review C.V.s, so submit early just in case you have technical difficulties. I also recommend you add your C.V. on Handshake, as this platform is a great place to search and apply for positions at your level.
Who should attend the The BIG10 Academia Postdoc Hiring Fair?
All PhD students and Postdocs looking for a first or next postdoctoral position are welcome to attend this virtual career fair. We highly encourage all early program PhDs and early postdoc trainees/scholars/researchers to explore future careers and build your professional network within Higher Education by attending group sessions. Those of you within 18 months of completing your program should consider this a MUST attend career fair and explore current postdoc positions via individual 1:1 sessions.
