This workshop is for master’s and doctoral students, including the 2026 Hayes Forum winners, as well as post docs interested in participating in the 2026/2027 Three Minute Thesis competition, when graduate/professional students and postdocs present their own research.
This workshop will provide an overview of this prestigious research competition. Focus will be on the competition process, including all professional and graduate students (master’s and doctoral level) and all 2026 Hayes Forum winners as well as post docs, to explain their complex research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes. The history of the 3MT will be briefly discussed and how it has become a worldwide university competition. Information on how to prepare for the university wide competition’s oration as well as the single static PowerPoint slide will also be addressed.
