BME PhD Student David Mualen's translational research wins awards

From the Department of Biomedical Engineering

David Mualen, a 3rd year biomedical engineering (BME) PhD student in Jessica Winter, PhD’s Biological and Applied Nanotechnology Laboratory is starting the 2024-2025 academic year strong with numerous acceptances to competitive fully-funded conferences and winning awards.

Mualen’s research focuses on creating smart systems that can deliver medications and nutrients/pesticides in a controlled manner. These systems are designed to release their content at the right time and place, making drug delivery more effective in healthcare and improving nutrient/pesticide use in farming, ultimately benefiting both human health and the environment.
