Jiaxuan Lily Wang, pianist and Graduate Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University School of Music, performed at Carnegie Hall twice in 2025 as a winner of the American Protégé International Competitions.

On March 23, Wang appeared at Carnegie Hall in the Winners Recital, performing Schubert’s Marche Militaire in a piano four-hand arrangement. She returned on June 27 for a solo performance of Chopin’s Etude Op. 10, No. 3, one of the composer’s most beloved works, celebrated for its lyrical beauty and emotional depth.

Wang earned these opportunities after winning First Prize in the American Protégé Romantic Music Competition, a prestigious international contest that attracts gifted young musicians from across the globe. Her appearances marked an important step in her career as both a performer and scholar.

“Performing at Carnegie Hall was a dream come true,” Wang reflected. “To stand on that stage as both a pianist and a representative of Ohio State was an honor that recognized years of growth and study.”
