The Campus Conversation on Graduate Education initiative is continuing, and as promised, there are three upcoming opportunities each for staff and students to provide their perspective. Please consider participating in one of the upcoming workshops on the issues that are at the forefront of graduate education nationally and at Ohio State: professional development, diversity and inclusion, and the funding environment.

These workshops will follow the same format as the ones we conducted for faculty.

Video Conferencing Policy Changes

Graduate School Handbook

The Graduate School and the Graduate Council have approved changes to Appendix B of the Graduate School Handbook—Guidelines for Video Conferencing Relating to Master’s and Doctoral Examinations—that make remote participation easier. The policy was approved by Graduate Council on February 27, 2017.


Anne Garrels To Give Keynote at 2017 Midwest Slavic Conference

April 7, 5:30–6:45 p.m.
220 Sullivant Hall

Author and former NPR correspondent, Anne Garrels, will deliver the keynote address at the 2017 Midwest Slavic Conference on Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m. in 220 Sullivan Hall. The conference is organized by the Center for Slavic and East European Studies and the Midwest Slavic Association.

J. Parker and Kathryn Webb Dinius Fellowship

Generous donors established the J. Parker and Kathryn Webb Dinius Fellowship to support students who plan to pursue or who are pursuing a graduate or professional degree at Ohio State.

Preference is given to students who earned an undergraduate varsity letter, with priority given to football players, at Ohio State.

Payroll Deduct Form for GAs Updated

The Payroll Deduct form has been updated. It verifies that GAs and graduate fellows have been informed about student fee deductions from their stipend checks; the form must be signed by all GAs and graduate fellows.
