Shari Speer Appointed Associate Dean of the Graduate School
Dr. Shari Speer of the Department of Linguistics has accepted the position of Associate Dean at the Graduate School.
She comes to the Graduate School after 18 years in the Department of Linguistics, including six years as chair and two as the Graduate Studies Committee Chair.
Dr. Speer’s research is in psycholinguistics and the relationship between language production and comprehension. Her work uses linguistic theory and empirical observation to develop models of language processing.
Before coming to Ohio State, Shari held a joint appointment in the departments of Speech-Language-Hearing and Psychology at the University of Kansas. She earned her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin.
