Graduate School Offers New Online, On-Demand Career Platforms

Resources for those seeking academic and non-academic careers

Graduate and professional students and postdocs at The Ohio State University have free, on-demand access to two comprehensive online career-resource platforms as of autumn semester 2024. Graduate school alumni less than three years post-graduation also have access to these on-demand platforms and resources.

Beyond the Professoriate and Beyond Graduate School offer a broad range of resources to help users navigate their career paths — whether in academia or beyond. From job-search strategies to expert advice, both platforms provide on-demand help in advancing career potential.

Beyond the Professoriate (for doctoral students)
Beyond the Professoriate’s four-step framework for career transition provides clear, step-by-step direction in launching a career. Whether aiming for an academic career or exploring professional options, the platform’s two programs — Academic Careers and Professional Careers — help users explore career options and learn job-search strategies to successfully transition into academic or non-academic careers.

Beyond Graduate School (for master’s students)
Tailored specifically for graduate students, Beyond Graduate School is designed to help users maximize their degrees. From crafting application materials to acing interviews and negotiating job offers, this platform supports users at every stage of their job search.
