The Graduate School is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025–26 Graduate Faculty Mentor Awards, which recognize outstanding faculty commitment to graduate student mentorship. 

The Ohio State Mentoring Initiative invites department and programs to request Better Research Through Better Mentoring workshops for the summer and/or upcoming academic year. 

Better Research Through Better Mentoring workshops are designed to support faculty in their endeavors to learn tangible skills and techniques to help them take their mentoring skills to the next level. 

Are you a faculty member leading a summer research experience for undergraduates? If so, please consider joining the Consortium of Undergraduate Research Experiences that is now housed in the Graduate School.

The Ohio State University Graduate School has awarded its 2026 Mentoring Month Mini Grants to a diverse group of faculty, staff and graduate student leaders whose projects highlight the power of mentorship across disciplines, career stages and communities.

We are still accepting Mentoring Month Mini-Grants through the month of February! Departments and programs, graduate faculty and staff, and graduate student organizations are invited to apply for a Mentoring Month Mini Grant of up to $500 to host an event or initiative to recognize mentors and mentees or celebrate mentorship. For Mary Stromberger, vice provost for graduate education and dean of the graduate school, her lack of a personal mentoring experience helped motivate her to relaunch the Ohio State Mentoring Initiative (OSMI) in the graduate school.

The Ohio State University’s Graduate School announced the successful completion of its 2025 Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP), celebrating a cohort of 40 undergraduate students who spent the summer immersed in a world-class research environment. The program, which concluded with a research symposium and closing reception, is a critical initiative aimed at providing students interested in graduate school with a pathway to graduate education.
