Ohio State Mentoring Initiative launches 2027 Mentoring Mini Grants

In recognition of National Mentoring Day, celebrated each year on Oct. 27, the Ohio State Mentoring Initiative is excited to launch 2027 Mentoring Mini Grants, which are back for a second year by popular demand.

Graduate student and postdoctoral scholar organizations, graduate faculty and staff, and graduate programs and departments are invited to apply for a 2027 Mentoring Mini Grant of up to $500. These funds can be used to host an event or implement an initiative that promotes effective mentoring, mentoring up, or peer mentoring practices and/or brings together or recognizes graduate student or postdoctoral scholar mentees and faculty mentors or peer mentors. Please note that graduate student and postdoc organizations must be able to receive funds via internal billing in order to participate.

Mentoring Mini Grants may be used toward an event or initiative that will take place during National Mentoring Month in January 2027, or any time before May 1, 2027. Up to 10 mini grants will be awarded. For examples of mentoring programming, read about last year’s grant winners in this news story.
