Graduate Research Associate Position Open in the Center for the Study of Student Life

The Center for the Study of Student Life (CSSL) anticipates hiring one (1) 20-hour per week Graduate Research Associate (GRA) for the 2024-2025 academic year. Examples of GRA job duties for the 2024-2025 academic year include, but are not limited to, implementing data collection efforts, analyzing datasets ranging in size from 50 cases to 15,000 cases, writing informal reports for committees and producing formal reports.

The Student Life Student Advocacy Center is seeking a Graduate Administrative Associate.  This grant funded position is available immediately and funding will expire in July 2025.  The GAA will be required to work 20 hours per week.  This position manages the administrative, assessment, and reporting activities for student emergency funds/grants administered by the Student Advocacy Center (SAC).

New Engaged Scholars Graduate Student Community of Practice starts January 19

The Office of Outreach and Engagement is launching a community of practice tailored exclusively for graduate students immersed in engaged scholarship. This community of practice will provide a space for graduate students to share experiences, insights and resources, and to cultivate a supportive, cross-discipline network. In this collaborative environment, we aim to foster a sense of mutual learning and shared growth. The first meeting is Jan. 19.

Stone Lab Scholarship Open to All Graduate Students

Stone Laboratory is offering financial support for OSU graduate student researchers who intend to pursue research using the facilities in 2024. These funds are primarily aimed at supporting OSU graduate students whose research projects will take place at Stone Lab and who could benefit from supplementary funds. These funds could cover, for example, housing, boat time, lab space and use of equipment (see appended list for estimated costs), and materials, supplies and new equipment (which will remain at Stone Lab at the completion of the project).

Three of Ohio State’s Area Studies Centers are seeking graduate, professional and select undergraduate students (eligibility varies by center), who are pursuing studies in advanced foreign language and area studies training, to apply for a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship (FLAS). The fellowships are for Summer 2024 and Academic Year 2024-25 and are funded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Title VI grant.

EmPOWERment NSF Research Traineeship Program Fellowship Opportunities

EmPOWERment is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year from current and prospective PhD students to The Ohio State University with an interest in sustainable energy. Prospective and first-year PhD students who are accepted into EmPOWERment also will be considered for a highly prestigious and competitive one-year fellowship opportunity funded by National Science Foundation that provides full funding to help support the trainee’s PhD studies and participation in the program. 

U.S. Department of Education Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) Fellowship Deadline October 31

The Office of International Affairs is soliciting applicants for the FY2024 U.S. Department of Education Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) Fellowship competition. This program provides grants to colleges and universities to fund individual doctoral students to engage in full-time dissertation research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months.
